Planted peas & carrots this year. The sweet peas in the back were expected to climb the trellis but for some reason they don't grab on to the metal. Had to add string and thin wooden dowels to get them to wrap tendrils around.
The carrots, which need to be thinned, are interplanted to bring nutrients up to the pea roots. What grows together goes together and vice versa.
Beets and a scattering of onions and parsley are also in the mix. Finally in the very center is a set of 5 Blue Lake Beans. The bush variety should be able to take over just as everything else is ready for harvest.
